BIG TROUBLES WITH DAZ STUDIO !!

Hi everybody,

I'm in front of a huge problem with Daz studio and I'm wondering if something got corrupted in the settings or something like that.
Here's the problem : whenever I try to use a premade expression, the result looks distorted and ridiculous, a bit as if the expression at 100% was in fact at 300%.
More than words, see the attached image : my original character on the left, the experssion used and the (scary) result (and no, it's not an halloween prank !!^^).
OK, thats for the face and expression...it does almost the same with the rest of the body : if I want to use a premade pose, exept the "basic" straight standing poses, everything looks just wrong and exagerated.

Help !!!! I'm totally lost !

In advance, a big thank you !

Cheers !

could it be expressions contructed to be used for a different character? but yeah, thats' some freaky results for sure.

Looks as if some kind of corrective morph, probably for a character or shape with a very enlarkged head, is kicking in when it isn't needed. Does this affect individual sliders as well as compound expressions? If so try aplying one and then enable Show Hidden Properties (Parameters pane option menu>Preferences) and look through the Currently Used group for anything with a character-related name (probably starting JCM or CBS).

Yep it does : if I double click the premade expression icon, I get this result, then if I use the expression cursor and put it to 100%, same stuff !

This has happened to me with a couple of one-click expressions or expressions that are included in a pose, but I have no idea what causes it. This is why I prefer dialable expressions.

Did you then check for any oddities, such as properties with a character name, under Currently Used?

Do you have Auto Face Enhancer installed?

  • What generation is this? I saw similar behaviour yesterday evening on Genesis 9, except with morphs (as if parts of them were dialling in 150%) I didn't have time to troubleshoot it, but I assume I've picked up a broken product within the last few days.

This. I have it for G8 and it is set to 100% by default. Any expression, either with a dial or click will distort the face to outrageous proportions. I don't know if there is one for G9, but that is exactly what happens with AFE.

Actually yes, I have it installed....Removing it.
Hopefully it will solve the issue...#fingerscrossed

Well....Removed everything regarding Auto Face Enhancer and the problem is still here....

Well you don't have to remove it, just go to the search bar with the model selected and type AFE.  The slider will show up and you can just dial it down.  And I don't know why it would stick around after you deleted it, but just make sure its all uninstalled if its still showing up that way.
