Vo Fay Duplicate Formulas

I purchased the Vo Fay bundle and now I have the duplicate formula again.  Has anyone found a fix for it?

Edit: I ran the log and went through and tried changing the ID names of the files but no luck.  Many of the "Fay" files were named "Ann", which I already have too.  In the meantime, I uninstalled them and things are okay.  And of course because I got the bundle I had to go through all 4 figures and still couldn't get it fixed.  Extremely agitating.

    I'm in the UK. I always say we should have a holiday to celebrate getting rid of a bunch of puritans, but no one takes me up on the suggestion.

    Definitely good advice.  After trying to solve this problem I've had no luck.  And after doing furthe rresearch I found out its been a known issue for a while.  Disappointing.

    You should always file tickets for such things. Not all PAs browse the forums..

    In the meantime, if you have that issue on a character morph, I would try doing an ERC bake followed by an ERC freeze, saving the morph again and overwriting the original one (i.e. be mindful if you have multiple libraries)

    Yes, when this type of issue is found, filing a ticket helps everyone, including DAZ.

  • Thank you for the feedback.  I submitted a ticket so it can hopefully be resolved.  My main annoyance is how long this has been an issue.  I won't be buying anything from VOOTW again.  I already bailed on Magic Brush because of those issues earlier this year and for the same reasons, too.

    I have the same issue, I looked at the logs and ended up removing all the morphs from DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 9\Base\Morphs\VOOTW for VO Fay and that fixed the issue. but now of course I don't have the morphs I wanted. I tried installing it from both the zips files and from the install manager always had the same issue.

    You shouldn't have to fix this on your own, but it can be fixed manually without needing to delete the morphs. Instructions here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/8287976/#Comment_8287976

    The instructions seem daunting, but they're fairly simple once you get the hang of them. I really wish Daz was more proactive in identifying this issue before products hit the store and that the fix turnaround was quicker. You can help get a fix out by opening a support ticket to report the issue to Daz. In theory.

  • Not sure I'm ready to do that kind of modification, but I did look at it and it looks like the creator mofified and existing models morphs. using VO Ann which I have also. I will put in a support ticket this weekend. I have been buying a lot of his stuff which will stop until I want to try my luck again.

    Well, if so, I suspect the vendor just created Fay based on Ann ... That's why the chars in these two products look almost the same... and quite a lot of their characters look also pretty similar...

    From a smiliar ticket - some problem when having the same names for textures different items from two products which reside in the same directory made by the same PA (not the one this thread is about, though) - I learned that the tech department doesn't handle such cases themselves, but just contact the PA with the wish to solve the problem. My ticket is open for 2 years or so and the problem isn't solved. Nothing the tech department can do about it, obviously, when the PA doesn't see the need to solve such problems. frown

    Yeah same for me too.  Magic Brush had an issue with it for a brief time but that now seems to be resolved-I was able to fix those with the instructions from the forums and there was even an actual update, which was great.  I've uninstalled Fay and the product has not been updated since August 2024; very disappointing and I'm not purchasing from the PA again because of it. And not because I dislike the product, all because of the quality.  (And I picked up a few new MB products lately with the Christmas sale and they've had no issues, so thank you Magic Brush, if you ever read this).
