Can anyone recommend a good mouse for Daz?
I am currently using a standard mouse ( L/R buttons and a scroll wheel in the middle) and I was wondering if anyone out there has a favorite "specialty" mouse that makes working in Daz easier. Not that it's hard now with a regular one. I was just wondering if anyone had gone for some bells and whistles and saw some improved functions during creation.
Thanks!

A lot depends on personal preferences. For myself, a "traditional" three button mouse is all I require (the scroll wheel acts like the middle button, if needed). I do have more elaborate, programmable mice and one of them is my all-time favourite. However, I still only use it and several other gaming mice that I have as three button mice. The extra functions available are simply not used. In case you are wondering, I have the gaming mice purely because they tend to be the only option for better-quality, more reliable mice these days.
I would recommend trying one out; they may look great, weird, and even useful. But their shape and size can have a big impact. My current mouse was about £65 a few years ago, and has been repaired a time or two; when it finally gives up, I'll be gutted as I haven't yet found one that feels as good. Keyboard, Mouse (or whatever) and Screen can all effect your health, so chose wisely and pay whatever you can afford.
I use a Logitech G502 as my full time all purpose mouse. I don't use anything special for DS but the mouse software has features that can help with pointer precision, speed etc.
* ability to individually adjust the x and y axis speed *ability to set 2 or more x and y axis speeds that can be selected by pushing a particular mouse button *profiles linked to executible files (ie. Daz exe, photoshop exe, etc.) so you can use the setting that fits best for a specific program *ability to adjust mouse weight distribution using the provided metal weights - good for helping with mouse "feel" *ability to set polling rate - mostly for games, but this also helps sometimes in other programs *ability to add macro scripts to any button on the mouse
Oh, and it does not have a gazillion buttons like some gaming mice
I pair the mouse with a Logitech G110, gaming keyboard that has macro buttons you can set up as you see fit... and it works with the same software as the mouse.
Hope this helps.
if you use keyboard macros, a programable gaming mouuse might be nice feaature to have.
as @thrain9 points out
I have been using the G500, hadprofiles set for games and browser, (never really thought setting one for DS) but when I had to replace my HDD, I couldn't find the software, so downloaded from Logitech, but still could not set up seperate profiles So was left set up for the game
just bought 2 G502's, one for the old comp and this new one, Haven't set them up yet, right now they are jsut 3button mouse, not all 11 buttons set up yet, or profiles, but after what thrain9 said think I'll have one profile for DS
I use two mice - on the right, just a typical mouse that came with the computer. On the left, a 3D mouse (https://www.amazon.com/3Dconnexion-3DX-700028-SpaceNavigator-3D-Mouse/dp/B000LB7G00). It's very nice to be able to fly through my scene with a camera controlled by my left hand and free up my right hand to control morphs, poses, etc..
speaking of mice: most of them today have the back / forward buttons
.. would it be hard to add such features on Daz Studio? when I'm browsing the content pane I always click the back button and I always GRRRR when I remeber it doesn't work! it just clicks.. :(
The Logitech M570 Wireless Trackball Mouse is my fav mouse, been using it for a few years and I freakin love it.
I use the wired verson of 3d Connection's CAD Mouse as my all- purpose mouse. For some reason wireless mice and keyboards don't play nice with my Intuous Pro Wcom tablet, which in turn messes up Photoshop and Illustator.
I use the 3D Connection Space Mouse for work in other 3D programs. For some reason, it never behaves right in DS. My cameras fly around with a mind of their own no matter what I try.
I have logitech G600 - had it for like 4 years. Probably dont recommend it!
It has three mouse click buttons instead of 2, and a series of extra buttons on the side. I had these all set up as shortcuts, and i always accidentlly click on them and do something i dont intend to do lol.
