MDL File export

Hallo, all.

I wonder if it´s possible to export iray materials as .mdl files for use in another program (Cinema 4D). Any suggestions how to do this?

it seems it's impossible to export to mdl.  no menu, no choice in save materials dialog box, nothing in the shader mixer.

The MDL files already exist in <your studio program directory>/shaders/iray. The shader mixer configuration is a different matter, and can't be "exported" as such. There must be some mechanism to transport the materials from DS to Iray during a render, but I've not checked to see whether it's discoverable on the file system.

That´s a really nice comment. In germany we have this little word that still make such commands, sry, comments a little bit nicer. The word is "bitte".

And btw: Before I´ve "bumped" this thread, I´ve get zero answers. Or perhaps some from the daz-team written with some special agent secret ink, just readable when I put the monitor on a hot stove plate...

I´ve tried it in every possible (for me) way without success. Unlucky...
