Anyone know if stuff from Xurge3D will work in Daz?

HI.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Xurge 3D and have imported it into Daz? I have a M4 character which I use all of the time, and I would like to change his outfits now and then, but there isn't much medieval style stuff that he can wear from the Daz store. All of the content creators are focusing on the newer models, so I am looking outside of Daz to try and find what I need, until I learn to make my own stuff. Xurge has a couple of great outfits and while they are made for Poser, I know some of the Poser stuff will work in Daz. But was just looking to see if anyone else has used their stuff in Daz before I spend my cash on it.

This help you? I did some tweaking of the materials - which is a dark art I haven't mastered yet - but this is two of Xurge3D outfits on Genesis.

Oh this is a while back done in 3DL before Iray.

Yes  AdamR did some presets for a couple fo the Xurge outfits, to make it easier, but again that was pre Iray.  http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/306/adamr001s-tutorials-and-freebies-index#latest

I have several Xurge items, although I've not used them extensively yet, in quick tests they worked fine.

I have quite a few of them, and I consider them awesome! Great attention to details, creative and awesomely wearable both when it comes to the Scifi and fantasy genre. No boring skimpywear! With a bit of a material tweaking (like fixing the bumps and metallic parts) they work fine in DAZ too. XURGE also made a few outfits for Genesis a while back, but lately they have been focusing on older models. For those still playing with the G3 characters there are even new stuff to be found with XURGE.

Thanks :-) I can't take too much credit as most of it came through Facegen. Check the Textures folders on Xurge too, there are additional textures for the Renassance Doublet - if you got that.

Wow I just got a great outfit for $2 and everything else for V4 was $7.50.  They look to be very detailed and well made.

fan from way back... I'm talking the PoserStyle days.  Who remembers PoserStyle anymore? Always fantastic stuff, though.

  • Got the stuff loaded (still have to load the stuff from Renderosity that I bought that works with it, most of it made specifically for Daz, thank goodness), but I am having a bit of difficulty getting it to fit. My M4 character is tweaked quite a bit, and nothing wants to fit in the waist area. it's all to wide, a lot of space between his stomach and the pant waist, and a bit of poke through at the hips.frown Oh well... can't expect everything to be perfect I suppose. LOL

  • And yeah, bought the doublet and the tunic, along with the Fantasy Knight, Nordic Armor, Paladin Armor, Fantasy Ranger and harness, Necromancer, Warlock, Medieval Royalty, spaulders, gauntlets and Cavalier boots. laugh
