Ré_instal Daz other disque

Hello
I have a problem with the installation of Daz! I’ve never seen such complicated software for so little!
My goal is to install it on a hard drive other than the system disk in case I have a future reinstalllions of Windows, I had found a tutorial on YouTube but it did not work at home or I did something wrong:

I have created folders as follows : in disque D

  • 32bit software base
  • 64 bit software base
  • Daz to Blender
  • dossierDaz source ( is the Daz root file)
  • Instal manager source ( is the root file instal manager)
  • Library_anexe ( for caract like renderhub)
  • My Lybrary ( for the content database base)
  • Package Achive
  • Thumnail Max Height

After that :

I installed Daz Studio in the root file folder created on my disk D
I did the same with the installer manager

Next: I going

In the settings of Advanced setting instal manager:

DOWNLOADS

  • Package Archive: (I created a folder and subfolder and copied/collet what was in the C disk)
  • Thumbnail Archive: (Same for this same process)

Installation

  • 32 bit software base: (Same process as if below)
  • 64bit software base: (I saved the same root file as for manifest Archive, and I created a folder and subfolder and I copied/collet what was in disk C)
  • Daz source: Instal daz root file
  • Instal manager root file
  • My libray (content database base)

I started the installation in queue

But I do not find the right folders it seems that daz absolutely want to put folders and the libray in disk C and it does not suit me!

Would anyone have a real procedure for an installation on a disk apart from?  thanks You for your help

Yea, it's fine if you want to have Daz Studio installed in your D drive.

But if you want to have Daz3d Contents installed in D drive, in the third screenshot in your OP, you need to change the path to D drive.

    So it's strange I can't modify it!!

Click the '+' sign at the bottom which adds a new entry. And set that entry to the wanted path.

Then click the triangle (arrow down) to the right of the Content Path Shortcut and select the new path.

Ok thank you for the era of working except that you didn't want it because it says that there are files which are not installed by install manager! anyway I'm going to start the installation again! I would say that thank you and if I don't come back before then, I wish you a Merry Christmas

Having a mixture of content installed by DIM and content installed manually in the same place can cause cifnlicts on removal/uninstall - DIM will note if a file was already present when it installed its own copy and not remove it if it goes to uninstall, but if you manually removed the product (or if you used its own uninstaller) you might remove the file that the DIM installation still needs.

You need to be more explicit when you say that Daz Studio wants to use the C drive, although I am in doubt if you are refering to Daz Studio installation or content libraries.

I think most that have been at Daz for some years have their content on a drive different ftom C-drive.

The C: drive is, without tricks like directory junctions, used for the AppData folder - but whether that is what is meant I have no idea. Also, some plug-ins insist on using the Documents/Daz 3d/Studio/ path so if Documents has not been moved that will be C:

I will start the installation again and I will attach a screenshot of my installation

I'm reposting my message because if I post it in response to someone then I would never get a response I think...

I am not at all sure what you mean by the "other Daz" - do you mean the icon chnage from DS to the head logo? That is just the curent version, 4.23.x.x instead of whatever slightly older version you had downloaded before - unless it was very old it shouldn't cause any great confusion to use.

I mean before it was brown and now it's this icon in PJ ! there are not several Daz who agree on that so it's good as you say it's the new version! I wanted to be sure ! thank you sorry I just arrived on daz and I already had difficulty with the installation and with the mesh !!! thank you really for your help at everyone
