Redirecting to missing files

Hi there,

Sorry if this is a repeated topic, but I have an issue loading an object (a texture more specifically) but the creator linked to something like c:/users/pc/downloads/tio/tecidos/seduction/black-lace-texture-18393628.jpg

I'm fairly confident with Google images that I can find a close approximation, but need to be able to redirect Daz3d Studio 4.9 to a new location.

Is this possible?

Thanks

  • If it's a clothing texture finding an image of black lace may not help (and I have to remind you to check the usage rights before you try an image you find). In general 3D items are UV mapped, each polygon that makes up the model is directed to use a particular piece of the image, and the result may well be rotated or stretched to make effective use of the area available.

That said, if you do find a suitable image you can apply it by clicking on the right area of the model with the Surface Selection tool and then in the Surface pane (Window>Panes(Tabs)>Surfaces) clicking the logo to the left of the colour bar for Base or Diffuse colour (for basic colour) or, for lace, perhaps you would need to make it a white on black image and use the logo next to Opacity Strength, select browse and load the image. As I said, since lace is meant to be holey you probably want the lace to be a white pattern (the solid bits) on  a black ground (the transparent bits) and apply to the Opacity, then adjust the Diffuse colour to get the colour of the lace.

Check the texture folder...there's a good chance it's in there...possibly named something else.

If it is, follow Richard's steps and replace the wrong link...

Or if it is just the diffuse map that's missing, but the opacity map is there...then recolor the opacity map (in this case probably inverting it would work) and save that out as the missing diffuse map.
