How do I scale textures in Daz|Studio?

I have some products from 2ndWorld that have incorrect scaling. For example, in the Bora Bora resort cottages, the roof tiles are (in Bryce scaling equivelents) need to be downscaled from x1/y1/z1 to x100/y100/z100. Likewise for the Marabella resort, the patio tiles and vegetation need to be downscaled by a factor of 100. I haven't seen a video that deals directly with the issue that I am aware of. How can I do this in Daz?

Textures are 2 dimensional only having x and y so I not understanding what the problem is.

  • Here's a shot of the Bora Bora roof. The tiles should be 100th of the size you see here.

I used the Bryce as an example, in Bryce textures are called MATs, and they can be scaled using all three dimensions as Bryce is a true 3D application.

If you are using Iray surfaces, then you can adjust tiling under the Geometry section of the surface.  Otherwise its in the Tiling section.

Update: I found the buttons in the surfaces tab (DUH).I figured out the roof exterior can be specfically chosen.  Which parameters deal with altering the scale or tiling? I tried the horzontal tiling and offset, they both scrolled the surfaces side to side. I tried vertical tiling and offset, but both likewise scrolled the surface up and down. Instead of the tiles (actually roof shingles) being huge slabs, I'm looking to reduce them to their proper relative scale.

The offset is just the start position, change that after the tiles are the right size.

The 'Horizontal and Vertical Tiles' are the x and y scaling.

e.g. If you set both to 10 it will scale the tiles down to fit 10 x 10 instead of 1 x 1.

  • Talk about racking my brain... Luckily, this thread about the tillers helped me make use of 17 dollars. It took forever to find the tilling menu under geometry. I could only find it on the Iray materials, didn't see the "tiling section" for the other renderer. Thanks though.. Now if only I could figure out how to install freebies.
