Dirty eyes

So the character is supposed to be Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing. The more realistic render has decent eyes. The toon render has better eyes than they've been, but it still has issues. I don't know why. I don't know why it has issues. I don't know why it's better than it was. 

I have a brand new computer that I just bought so I could get decent renders. Daz was just installed last night. Everything is up to date as far as I can tell. 

Any suggestions would be great!

    and here is the female character I'm working on. It's for someone else. I don't remember the character's name... no, wait.. I think it was Leila.

    How did you do the toon render - is it Filatoon or something else?
