DS 4.23 B Forgot My Settings

For some unknown reason, when I started up DS, it completely forgot my settings.  Pane tabs were in the wrong places (or absent), the Scripts menu was empty, etc.  And installed plugins aren't there.

Assuming I have a decent backup, how do I go about restoring my settings.  It will be painful to do everything all over again (and I have long forgotten how to do some interface setups).

Load a Saved Layout if you ever saved your DS Layouts. Window > Workspace > Select Layout....

If you didn't... remember to save Layout in the future... just in case.

I was able to restore my Studio settings from a backup, and it's mostly back, but there are a couple of anomalies:

When I restart, the app menus are almost empty, and the tool row is missing.  Reloading the layout I saved fixes it, but I shouldn't have to do this.

The 'Simulation' pane no longer has a pulldown menu with useful options like 'simulate selected'.  Can this be repaired?

Try Windows > Update and merge menus.
