OT - Dual Monitor Question/Suggestion

Hello All,

Right as the world was shutting down in March of 2020, I panic-purchased 2 LG 32MP58 monitors, so that I could work from home, and update the monitor on my DAZ rig.  While they are nice monitors, my desk arrangement has changed since that time.  I'm also working on a circa 2019 Dell XPS 8930 tower with an GTX 1070 card.  Yes, I know it's weak compared to modern cards, but at least it still has 8GB of VRAM.  The card only has 1 HDMI port, yet 2-3 DisplayPort ports.  I'm looking to go with dual 27" monitors setup with my nerwe adjustable desk, so I can DAZ on one screen, and do things on the other screen.  Which DisplayPort Monitors should I look for?  Dell, Samsung, LG?  I'd prefer flat monitors, but might check out 27" curved to see if I like them.

Thanks,

-David

all i can say is I roll 7 lenovos maybe cheap as one would see it but i have a few things going on at all times I am not a fan of curved screens at all but that may be because I'm old lol. perhaps I was bored and wanted to say hi or have tea with the hatter but hey Stark always do what fits you trust me. What i've found is every market rolls with the trend they all scatter but yeah...run in line so do what you think best fits you

I don't know the brand, but my friend got an OLED monitor and seems to think it's the greatest thing ever. It's probably also the most expensive thing ever.

I have been to stores like Staples in the past 4-5 weeks and I've squinted at various monitors but have yet to make a decision. I tend to look at the stand - is it sturdy, is it a weird or radical design... does it rotate? I haven't considered bringing in a laptop - with DS on it say - and asking whether I can connect to the monitor(s) on display.

Sometimes I write down model numbers or I take a picture of the specs.

I guess for people in major centers (eg. stores aren't too far away) there is the trial and error method - take one and set it up and if it doesn't cut the mustard take it back for a refund or store credit, and they will sell the unit as an "open box".

Running many Dell 32 monitors with DP and have so for about 9 years. Never had a problem with them.
I do recommend staying away from the glossy screens. I have a dual setup of two Dell 32 inch monitors with glossy scrreens and they are like mirrors. Especially since I run alost all apps in darrk mode.

Ever since I bought two 4k LG 38inch curves back when they first came out, I stopped using dual screens. The 38 inch is better than a dual. No need for two like I have. It's so much better than the dual setups I once ran.
