hello I have a problem with denoiser I use it to render frames faster but the problem is basically the same as when I solved it here, I updated my graphics card to a new upgrade and it does it again only this time as if the error is in the denoiser .. do I have to put the control on the one where the error did not occur there ? with the old update nvidia driver everything is always fine so do you have any IDEAS ?  ? I'VE BEEN USING A DENOISER FOR A LONG TIME, THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM  THIS IS HOW I STILL HAVE THE DENOISER SET

EVERYTHING GOES WELL WITH THE DRIVER VERZION  561.09

ERROR APPEARS WITH NEW DRIVER 566.36

Post Denoiser was designed for Iray rendering with GPU...in the 2nd screenshot above, it seems that you rendered with CPU rather than GPU... so Denoiser failed to work. 1stly check if you ran out of VRAM ~

If 566.36 doesn't really work for your case, just roll back to the older driver that worked for you...

  • HOW DO I CHECK MY RAM ? WHERE CAN I FIND IT? AND I USE PURELY ONLY THE GPU, THE CONTROLLER DOES IT AGAIN, I HAVE CHECKED ONLY THE GPU AND AFTER A FEW HOURS it switches to the pcu again, it seems ok, so I'll go back to the old controller, but they could fix it now, or will it never be fixed again?

TechPowerUp’s GPU-Z is what many Windows users (myself included) use to get more information about GPU memory usage that what the Windows Task Manager provides.  It’s a free download at https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-gpu-z/ .  If you’re a Mac user, you might find a desirable alternative to GPU-Z at  https://alternativeto.net/software/gpu-z/?platform=mac

  • iRAY eat more and more VRAM for each release so there is not anything to "fix", thats why it may work on the older one, the message is not an error, it just say that you are using CPU and denoiser will not work.

So no, you cannot expect a "fix" unless you get a GPU with more VRAM.

so as he got more VRAM I have to buy a new graphics card or if I bought a whole new PC ...

Hi, last time I was solving a problem with denoiser that turned off after a few hours, someone told me that I ran out of WRAM memory, what should I buy or do to have more WRAM memory? The problem persists and it's really bothering me as a long-time Daz Studio user. It's a problem for me, I bought a new PC last year, so should I buy a new PC?

VRAM, not WRAM. VRAM referes to the memory on your GPU, so the first question would be, what kind of GPU does your computer have?

As noted it's Vram not Wram ... it's the memory on your video card.
If you have a desk top computer you can generally upgrade the card but sticker shock can be a factor.
Also, if you have never up-graded stuff in your computer ... check some videos on youtube.. it's an easy thing to do and adding someones charges to do it will be another hit.

I definitely won't be buying a new graphics card, for God's sake, I bought a new PC last year. It's just that a driver update fixed the problem, everything was fine before

Well you asked how you can have more VRAM on your PC. The only way to do that is to buy a card with more VRAM. No driver or software update can change the actual amount of VRAM your PC has.

Now, there are options to optimize the amount of VRAM your scenes will use, so that you're less likely to run out of it. For example, using tools like Scene optimizer, Camera view optimizer, or shaders like these, to remove items which are not needed or reduce the weight of the textures used.

but what happened in the beginning, it didn't matter how big the scene was, the rendering continued even in the denoiser the whole time. after the update, it runs for a maximum of 3 hours, then the denoiser turns off, the picture is also dotted.. but when I put the old driver, the denoiser runs all the time, even for 6 or 8 hours, and renders the images nicely .. without errors .. why is it still like that .. if only I reinstall the drivers all over, won't it damage the graphics card? for example, when I want to play, I put the latest nvidia driver .. when I want to render, I reinstall the old nvidia driver. can something happen with the graphics card?

There have been problems reported with a couple of recent versions of the Nvidia drivers and Iray, maybe your denoiser issue is part of those.

Do you absolutely need the latest driver for your game? There might be a recent enough version which would work for both.

For one game, an older one is enough, but for Call of Duty I have to have the latest one, which is a shame because I don't enjoy playing only one game. So can the installation damage the graphics ?

It shouldn't damage the card AFAIK.

hello so the latest driver fixed those errors that I had now denoiser worked for 8 hours

    Threads merged

    What does that mean?

Your posts were moved to another thread on the same topic (denoiser problems due to the latest drivers).

Moderators sometimes merge threads like that so that people who have the same problem can find a single thread with all answsers rather than multiple partial threads on the subject.
