Why do I have two Content locations?

I just installed DazStudio Pro 4.9 as well as the DAZ Install Manager. I bought a new computer and want to start fresh so I intend to start over with installing only part of my content . But I noticed that the Content Directory Manager shows two separate locations for My Library:
C:/Users/Public/Documents/My Daz 3D Library
C:/Users/<user name>/Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library
The first one is the one used by the DIM by default. Should I change this and only have one location for the content library? There is also a 3rd location for the DAZ Connect library which I am assuming I need to leave where it is.

All 3 arer changeable...except it is best to do so before you start installing content (just makes it easier). If you do pick one, make sure that both Studio and DIM both know it's location and AGREE...they each need to be using the same info or you will be back to 2 or more locations.
Connect is a bit different as it is part of one of the other two..but sort of looked at separately. While you can't change individual items in it (at least easily), you can changed the whole thing. Again it's best to do so BEFORE using it to download/install anything.
The C:/Users/<user name>/Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library is the default from before DIM, and is still used for your own files and should be sued for content not from Daz (freebies and items from other stores) to reduce the possibility of conflicts. The My Daz 3D Library was added when DIM was introduced, specifically for its installations - though if you install a fourth generation figure using ExP for its morphs you do have to place any ExP add-ons in the same folder, regardless of source.
Probably a dumb question, but what is ExP? I did a search but only came up with variations of "explanation"
At its simplest, ExP is Daz's method of extending the available morph channels in generation 4 figures. It's a bit more than that...
Thanks, mjc1016 - doesn't soound like something I'm using so I am probably safe.
It's the system used by the fourth geenration daz figures (Victoria 4, Michael 4, SubDragon) - it's way to add a new morph set to a figure without having to create a new CR2 for each possible combination of morphs (for the third generation figures each big morph expansion came with its own figure file, and they couldn't readily be mixed).
If you are using any morph add-ons like Morphs+, Creature Creator it's needed (I think it's also absolutely necessary for things like Steph4, SheFreak, Freak, etc).
Even the base morphs (other, I think, than the male shapes for V4) are ExP files.
Yes, but aren't the base morphs installed by default...so they will be in the right place? (It's been so long since I actually installed any of the 4th generation items, I'm not sure what is default and what isn't, any longer).
Yes, they will be in the right place - but they still need the DzCreateExPFiles script for the figure run, or PowerLoader used in DS.
Yikes, I didn't get an email advising me of the replies. Thanks to Richard & mjc for expanding on the topic!
