fixing poorly set up files...

I've gotten an item where the obj and textures are stored in the same folder as the .cr2's and it works fine that way, I'm just trying to fix it to a more standard location and was wondering if it is as simple as putting files where they should be, loading it, answering where the files are now, and then exporting a .cr2? From there I'm gonna move to converting to DS versions as I like playing with subdivision and smoothing and it'd be convenient to have the subdivision already there when I load the figure

AFAIK A lot of Props which are set up as Poser version have the OBJ in the CR2 folder. Moving it may completely throw of the pathing.
?? Most items I see, especially any store bought items seem to keep their geometries in a separate folder. The set I'm dealing with was a freebie, and I'm just trying to make it fit the organization that other such items have. I figured it'd break pathing for the resources, but Studio also lets me locate the new location of those resources (under runtime/geometries/[item name] ) I'm just checking if exporting as .cr2 from there will create a workable .cr2 with proper relative linking to the location so I can zip up a backup for myself with the proper layout instead of this everything in one folder business I've got now.
The obj can be in the Pose or Geometry folder. Most often they are in the Geometry folder. However, wherever they are they must stay there unless your gonna hack the code of the CR2 to point to the new location.
In other words, no, most of the time it won't be as simple as just filling in the blanks when asked. It means actually hand editing the file, first...because when it comes to geometry, it can ask, not ask and load boxes or just quit loading it. And I'm not sure what triggers each. Textures generally do get the 'find me' dialog.
Drat. Well, that's fine. I'm good with hand editing the silly thing. Just wanted to see if Studio could make it easier somehow. Can't complain since it was a free item, but conversion and export are so much easier when everything is where the program expects to find it.
