metadata update fails when i connect

in Daz Studio Discussion

when i click the connect button in DAZ3D 4.9 it connects and then tries to update 134 items' metadata. but, when it is done only two items were updated and the rest failed. i think this may be one of the resons i cant install the Canoes product. Does anyone have any insite to this. i opened a ticket on the offline install issue to tech support so ill see what they say there.

    I've had this error for at least a week. I posted about it in another post. It started with 70 some items updating and 4 failing. Then in a few days it was less. Now I get 3 items updating and 1 failing.I'm not sure that it has anything to do you not being able to install something. I bought the canoe and I was able to install it. How did you try to install it? I found that the easiest way for me is to write down the names of all the products that I purchased and then open up the store panel in Daz Studio 4.9. Then I type the product name into the search bar. (Usually just part of the name is enough). Then I'll see the product icon. (Sometimes I have to hit clear all before the window will populate.) If you own the product, it will say INSTALL underneath the icon. If you don't own it, it will say BUY. I click on the icon (or maybe the word install) and it will install then. That's how I installed the canoe.

    I have had an issue with some bundles doing it this way. Sometimes I just get the error. Then I have to go through and search for all the parts of the bundle and install them one by one. Usually there is one that won't install at all. I bought the Vintage Boxing Bundle and Marcel for Genesis 2 will not install through Daz Connect. It will show in the store window, but does not show in the availble window, or any of those other windows. The other parts of the bundle do display there though. I have a ticket in with the help desk. I guess it was the best part of the product to have NOT install, as I'm not falling down wanting to use Marcel. I might use him on occassion. But probably not very often.

    I experienced it  weeks ago.  at that tme  it successed  only one item but failed another. how many times I shut down ds and log in,daz connect.

    DAZ connect keep fail to up-date meta-data. then I did  not believe, the log file say,one meta-data up-date suceeded.

    but next day,, daz connect can up-date all meta-data almost 30 more,,(at least in my log,) then, there are no failed files.

    I checked many downloaded Json  I:\myfile\dazstudio4\DAZconnect\data\cloud\meta   ,  modified data,  2016/2/5

     

    I think,,,, that means,, my meta-data not up-dated from 2016/2/5 at least about downloaded meta-data by daz connect.

    what is the items DAZ connect up-dated again and again?  I do not tweak anything, just test, daz connect log out and log on

    three times in 1 miniute..  

    without clear why these things happen I can not rely  the daz croud stability . at least about up-date meta-data things.

    Hi, KevinH. I did this and saw the canoes. i clicked the install button but nothing happened. very strange.

    Sorry it didn't work for you, Jorr. Did you try clicking on the bottom where the word INSTALL was? I think that if I clicked on the picture nothing happened, but if I clicked on the word INSTALL it installed the product. But try different places if you haven't already.

    Hello again. thank you for your help. i figured the problem out. my database was damaged. i reset it and re-installed the metadata. then everything worked fine. i figured it out when i saw my Smart Content tab wasnt working.
