How might I turn rigged clothing into just cloth

I'm trying to have a character remove an article of clothing, and drop it to the floor. Simulation should do this well for plain cloth with a dForce modifier, but my clothing articles are more complicated, and I'm a bit lost. I figured out how to remove bones, but when in the bone editor, with the object in question hidden ("eye" shut), I see white lines outlining some of the parts of the clothing. What are these lines, and are they preventing a simple simulation from showing the cloth collapse to the floor? It appears these lines are pinning parts of the mesh in place. How do I remove them?

    Why did you want to remove bones ? No need to do so ~

    You just need to 1stly remove dForce Modifier on the clothing, then add dForce Modifier back. Tweak settings on dynamic surfaces as needed (or save simulation settings as Material Preset beforehand... then load back to the clothing... ), then Simuate.
