Reality web access

I've just had my copy of Malwarebytes pop-up with a blocking of access (outbound) from DS to stats.preta3d.com (and doing so multiple times). I used to hjave Reality, but disabled the plugin a long time ago. I REALLY do NOT like the fact that a disabled pluigin is trying to access the internet without my knowl;edge - I'm kind of surprised that this is the first time this has happened.

If Reality is disabled just what the heck is doign this?

I've not used that one in years so I checked and it's still installed on my machine.

was anyway, I just deleted it.

Down load the zip file and check it for where its files are and use that to find them on your PC and delete them manually.

Using "EVERYTHING" for PC will help find it all

I have deleted the sub directory under the plugins directory to remove that aspect of Reality.  As for the zip file I am having issues finding it: not sure how I originally got the product, but a search of my saved DS-related files does not find anything with 'reality' in the name, and DIM has no clue about the product!

Again, the physical removal is not so much the issue (it has not tried a connection since), it's more the why the hell did it even try when it was disabled aspect.

Yea, I've been using Everything as a replacement for Windows search for years. Love it!

Not sure, but I think the Reality website was shutdown a few years ago.

So it might have a new owner by now.

Yes, Paolo disabled/decommissioned his Realiry licence server a fair few years ago, but not sure of the overall status of the site. I can't recall what IP address was associated with the domain so have no idea if ownership/location of the domain has switched. A quick whois of the domain doesn't relly show much (not that I am an expert on interpreting this info!):
