4.8 crashing when deleting lights from older scenes

I've had this happen a couple times in the past day or so.

First time I've gone back to clean up all stuff to more over to iray...

program is crashed when I delete lights ...

is this a known issue?
I can always just turn them off ..
as long as they're not on ---- they shouldn't effect the renders? Even if I switch to iray
