What file were you trying to open? Was it a scene file?
First, how about checking the log file as instructed in the error message?

yes it is a scene. I'll take a look when I get home now I'm traveling to work. I just wonder if there is a way to reverse it. I'll check the error and get back to you right away.

    %appdata%/daz 3d/studio4/log.txt

Paste that into the file browser's address bar and the log should open in the default application for .txt files (Notepad if you haven't picked anything else).

Browse to this location C:\Users\(YOUR NAME)\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4 and look for the log.txt

That error looks to me as a Connect error not related to the scene file.

Try to attach the log as a text file.

Wrong product GUID shouldn't stop DS from opening a user-facing DUF file... If you were opening that "bad prion 1.duf", the file now locates in your OneDrive folder, you may try copy/move that file to another disk, then open it. Or, open that file with Notepad++ to see if the file is corrupted.

If the file is compressed, firstly uncompress it via DS > Window > Panes > Batch Convert.

I tried that, I guess I have to accept that I can't save the scene, I guess I know what happened, I ended the scene and saved it, but I can't wait and immediately started loading the next one and probably there was a mistake

Saving process and Opening processing are totally separate routines... they shouldn't bring issues to one another. Have you checked if the file is corrupted ?

I ever saw a case in the forum, that a folk's hard was damaged to some extent, then some files were not able to be re-opened.

How do I find out, please?

As I said above: Uncompress DUF file firstly  via DS > Window > Panes > Batch Convert. Then open it with Notepad++.

Or you can attach the DUF file in here if you don't mind. We may help to check.
