Genesis 8 face expressions and poses on Genesis 8.1

Is it possible to use Genesis 8 face poses, expressions and controls on Genesis 8.1 figure on version 4.23? They don't show up in the parameters tab and the method I saw doesn't appear to work on version 4.23.

Yes, there are several posts on this - essentially you need to remove the dummy FACS properties from the /data/daz 3d/Genesis 8/female8_1/morphs/daz 3d/ or male8_1 folder which stop DS from seeing the originals - though it will add sliders and slow loading/posing to an extent due to al the extra links between properties (which I imagine is why they blocked them in the first place, that and the confusion of having two ways to achieve the same end)

Didn't work. I deleted the only 2 folders that had anything to do with FACS ("FASC" and "FACSExpressions"), and nothing changed. It only gave me some control over the eyebrows.

In that case you probably just broke G8.1, best to uninstall the G8 starter essentials and then reinstall them.

G8 expressions are 95% morph, 5% facial rigging, G8.1 and G9 are 95% facial rigging and 5% small partial HD morphs for fine detail.

The two systems ARE NOT compatible, that is why those "dummy files" were added to G8.1, the devs knew someone would be foolish enough to try and use the G8 files, and then complain about things not working right, so they blocked access to stop it from happening.

Sadly it's not a robust system and was easy to get around, and despite the devs best intentions, some people figured out how to get around it.

     Still a nope.

Wrong deletion... you should've deleted subfolders: Base Pose Head and Expressions, as below screenshot. Better ZIP them as a backup before deleting them.

Then, just in case, press F2 in DS, clear DSON Cache Files. Reload G8.1F.

    Didn't work either.

Then you must've installed multiple G8 Started Essentials in your Daz Libraries. Do the same to all of them, or better keep only one copy of them.

It works for all of us as long as the deletion has been correctly done.
