solution for daz not displaying/rendering a changed surface?

A solution besides just closing and opening [for daz not displaying/rendering a changed surface?]. 
This is been around a long time...  you change a surface and the surface editor shows the change but the viewport doesn't and the render doesn't either.
I think it only happens with many items/surfaces etc in a scene a buffer or accumulator overflo so it won't add a change?
But naturally it happens just enough to be annoying but not repeatable on demand.
Tonights case I saved the same with the change showing in the surfaces, closed daz restarted daz, reloaded scene 
Scene image still showed the old surface but the surfaces tab for diffuse showed the normal map until I put the cursor there and then it switched the tab map to the new diffuse and then the scene switched to match it.

    Though I've not experienced such issue, but for this proabably a "glitch", you may try pressing Ctrl + I to refresh texture images, and/or use the script: Purge Memory in the product : Default Resources for DAZ Studio  See if it works.

    the refresh image is hidden in the drop down on the pane... but now I know it's there... thanks
    now to get purge memory is it purge because it prunes the excess data?

    Purge Memory script just clears invalid, not-used and residual data in RAM ~~
