Toggeling visibility of objects between Frames

Hi,

is there any possibility to toggle the visibility (in render) of certain objects in differntly from frame to frame in the timeline?

Everything I tried so far switched off the visibility in all frames.

Thanks!

Funny, I too am just now exploring ways to make a prop appear and disappear in an animation I am working on.

So far I believe the following methods should work, but of course would like to know if I am missing other options.

    1. Move the prop in/out of the camera’s view in a single frame jump.
    2. Scale the prop from  0.01 to 100% in single frame jump.
    3. In keyMate or Animate2 you can toggle “visible in render” on & off (seems to require two “ons” followed by two “offs” for this toggle thing to work).
    4. Render the animation as an image sequence, stop and change prop/figure visibility, start next image sequence, repeat as necessary.
    5. Use a script to animate the prop’s texture, with prop texture video/image sequence going from invisible to visible (I haven’t tried this but would seem to be a good option if you need fade-in/out for prop visibility).
    6. For fade-in/out manually render image sequence with varied opacity of the object from 0 to 100.

Hope one of these works for you. Option 3 above seems the most direct method, just tricky to figure out how the "toggle" works.

    Thanks for the info!

Is this on a different pane or do I need to buy the Animate2 (non light) plugin for that?

I am using the full version of Animate2, so the following is for that.  Hopefully it will work for the light version as well.

In the case of making a prop appear and disappear in a DAZ animation sequence using the “Visible in Render” option, try the following:

    1. Select Prop in your Scene Tab.
    2. Open aniMate2 pane.
    3. Click + (plus sign) to add a “track”. Then zoom in to see key frame data.
    4. With your Prop still selected open the Parameters pane
    5. Click on “Display” to show the “Visible in Render” On/Off toggle switch.
    6. As you click on the Visible in Render toggle you will see your key frames indicating a change was made (mine show as red bars).
    7. Move your playhead up and down your timeline and you can watch the Visible in Render change between ON and OFF for each frame where you have clicked the toggle switch.
    8. Setting the On and Off toggle is not intuitive so I think the best way to think about it is that you need an ON setting at the beginning of the sequence and an ON setting (followed immediately by an Off) at the end of the sequence for which you want to have visibility change.

Note, the visibility change of the prop will not show in your preview, so you will have to run a quick animation (use fast render) to confirm you are getting the results you want.
