Content Organization
As I have owned Poser since version 4 since 1999 or 2000 I think, I decided to finally merge my old Poser and DAZ Studio 3 content with the new DAZ Studio 4.9 content because a lot of it was redundant and often similar products by the same artist would not end in in the same organizational location in the DAZ Studio 'Content Library'.
So using the Install Manager after the merge I deleted all the packages I have bought in my account and then installed all of them again. This seemed to work fine except to my frustration I found out there is yet another new location for DAZ Content that appears to use some db hashing scheme or something. So I change that location to my external SSD location and repeat the process.
Now that is solved, but again to my frustration as I browse the Content Library Products one by one I find some products aren't installed or thought to be installed although I have via the Install Manager. So I install within DAZ Studio 4.9 Conduct Library Products the products with DAZ Studio 4.9 think aren't installed. It's not all of them but enough.
Well some of those products Product folder are empty, such as the products that a animation sets. Very few have a broken icon but finally in 'Products' and Categories' I at least have an easy to understand organization scheme.
However, in my DAZ Install Manager I still have 3 products that failed to install although in DAZ Studio Pro 4.9 that are installed. They are 'Genesis 3 Female Essentials', 'Big Bad Wolf', and 'The 3 Bears'. Since I bought 'The Girl 7' today I decided to delete and redownload 'Genesis 3 Female Essentials', 'Big Bad Wolf' and 'The 3 Bears' and try to reinstall. So this time 'Genesis 3 Female Essentails' installs OK but 'Big Bad Wolf' and 'The 3 Bears' do not. How to fix this?
Also, under 'Content Library' 'Products' I under letter 'L' 'LOCAL USER' with a broken icon. I don't know what they have in common. Some I have bought and installed in DAZ Studio Pro and some recently and some are part of my Poser 2014 Pro Game Dev. There are 815 products under 'Local User' I'm on Windows 10. Do I just need to change ownership of my top level DAZ 3D & Poser libraries to fix this?
And finally, under 'Smart Content' 'Lost & Found' I have 9 items all re-installed or bought and installed recently including 'Lamb.duf' (Toonimal Lamb) and Girl 7.duf (The Girl 7). The others are 'Pot.pp2' (props/ART_BackYard) and 6 'Attachment' to 'DAZ Mil Dragon' (Horns Huge, Hons Side, Jaw Fins, Jaw Horns Lrg1, Jaw Horns Lrg2, Horns Huge, Horns Side, Horns Back.
I tried manually assigning the Girl 7 to the same Smart Content location that Callie 6 is location in but that didn't seem to work. Or rather, she is there now not still in 'Lost and Found'. Do I need to delete her manually from Lost and Found?
One last question? Can I create 'Smart Content' personalized categories, e.g. all my 3DU content organized how I like, even if the content isn't listed under 'Smart Content'?
