Postgre SQL CMS not working for new computer install

I bought a new computer, and have now installed Daz 4.23 and content from the Daz Install Manager. I downloaded the most recent (I think) Postgree SQL CMS ver. 9.3.4. The installer put the files under C:\program files\DAZ 3D\ Pastgre SQL CMS. However, I continue to get an error message that the program is not working properly, and the Smart Content area remains blank. I can use the downloaded content from the "right-side" content in the program, and the Install Manager finds everything and downloads it. Note that the CMS Cluster folder is empty. I am perplexed. Do you have any suggestions that might help me?

I have this problem too, i installed on windows 11, i get the no cms
The CMS uses an internal port that might be blocked by a Firewall or Virus Checker and will have to be allowed through. You could also try changing the Port Number in Studio under Edit/Preferences/CMS Settings, also check that the Cluster is set for the right directory.
I don't have a c;program files/daz3d/ pastgre sql cms, is that the problem
Did you install PostgreSQL (oen version only, usually the 64 bit general release) - not teh Valentina to PostgrteSQL conversion tool, that is a tool for converting the Valentina database used in very old versions of DS 4 to PostgreSQL and has been pretty much irrelevant for a decade or more.
I have ver 64 bit release but i don't have a postgre where do i find it
problem is solved at least for me, it found me
Thank you for your responses so far. Will someone please tell me where their PostgreSQL folder is located on their computer? Maybe the files downloaded to an incorrect location. I am using windows 11 64-bit, same as richard.perkins. I downloaded the latest version of PostgreSQL from the Daz 3D site, after it appeared that Daz Studio 4.23 did not install it.
Research update: I checked the firewall, but the problem is that there is no .exe file in PostgreSQL. Daz3d.exe and Daz Install Manager.exe are listed as authorized to go through. That explains why I can download and install through the DIM. I changed the internal port, which was set to the default17237, to a couple of other numbers but no luck. I'm now thinking about doing the uninstall and reinstall solution.
Sorry!!! I didn't realize the type would be big like that.

I found mine thru daz install mnager actually, I came up and i download it, it just took awile
I'm going to try that now, thanks.
I did find a newer version of PostgreSQL in the download manager. When it installed this time, the CMS files are located at C:Users\Owner|AppData\roaming\DAZ 3D\cms. So I set that as the path for the Content Manager(withing the Daz Studio Program) and it worked! You can find the content manager settings under "edit" "preferences" Temporary File Location".
For an interesting aside, The newest Windows 11 has important folders hidden. It's probably a good idea generally to save the novice from breaking their computer.. I could not see the AppData folder until I changed the folder setting.
Hiding AppData by default is not new to Windows 11 - it dates back at least as far as Windows 7.
I'm using a Mac computer. (Apple Mac Mini M2 Pro. 16GB. Sequoia 15.3). I have just upgraded from an older Intel Mac Mini. The old Mini (intel i7) ran DAZ Studio OK. I have now encountered the PostgreSQL CMS error. See screen cap. (A valid PostgreSQL connection could not be established). I have tried several remedies with no success. I understand that without an Intel GPU Mac Metal will be a CPU-only render experience. I wiped my Daz SSD clean and performed a new DIM and Daz Studio install each time failing to remedy the issue. Thin did a complete search and removed all Daz content from the Mac drive. No Daz content could be found. Due to Apple's constraints on drive space, I have two 2TB SSDs in a Qwizlab external USB C hub attached to my Mac. Daz ran fine on the same hub when used with the older Mac Mini (OS X 12 Monterey) using the same storage options. I have checked the Daz forums for help but all the information was for a Windows installation of Studio. Any assistance would be much appreciated as I am at a loss as to what to do next. I have been using Studio for many years. This issue has me baffled.
Thanks to all.
I would suspect that this is Apple's built-in security preventing Daz Studio and postgreSQL from talking (using IP protocol)

Thanks for the help Richard. I wonder if there is a way to address that issue.
I appreciate the information.
