Suggestions on a good PC to buy?
Hi all,
it's this time of the decade again, I'm looking to buy a new PC. And it is supposed to be one that I can use for DAZ.
Basically I am looking for a good balance between working on scenes and rendering. But being a complete computer hardware-illiterate I have no clue what I need to look for to get good results. I do not mind investing quite a bit more than for an average off the shelf PC (so do tell me what is best, not just a little bit better than unusable). But I want to make sure that if I do, the machine will then give me a good performance when I work (and render) in DAZ studio.
So what am I looking for? What Type of Processor, what type of graphics card etc.? What pitfalls do I need to avoid?
I know we have a good community here ;-) so thanks in advance for any advice you can give me
Sascha

If your budget would stretch, a 5090 would probably be the best near mortal machine - but we don't yet know if the current version of iray will work with the new cards or if we will need to wait for an updated version to be released and integrated. Whatever you get, remember that you will need at least and quite possibly three times as much system memory as GPU memory to take full advantage of the card (otherwise the system memory will be a limitation on scene size for GPU rendering before the GPU is).
I suggest that you get one with a motherboard that can power 2, even 3 monitors over USB C ports on the motherboard. You'll have to buy monitor that can be powered over USB C lines as well eventually.
