DokkAlfar For Genesis 2 Can't Wear Clothes? (SOLVED!)

PipefoxPipefox Posts: 113

I'm having some trouble with the DokkAlfar For Genesis 2 Male. No matter what kinds of clothes I put on him, I always end up with huge holes in the clothes as if there is skin poke-through. I've tried the usual mesh-smoothing to get rid of the holes, but for some reason that just makes things worse instead of better. I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong.

Has anyone else had similar trouble with this product? I'm really eager to make some dark elves, so any advice as to how they can wear their clothes properly would be very much appreciated! :)

I'll test it out in a second.

okay, tested him out with Darius's Air outfit, and he seems to wear it fine. Which outfits are you using? Maybe I can have it and can test it.

Hi Serene Night! Thank you for wanting to help me! :)

    I've tried DokkAlfar with these clothing sets;

Dark Passion For Genesis 2 Males

    Dark Moods for Genesis

    Onyx For Genesis Male

I know the last two are meant for Genesis while he's Gen2, but I have converters that have worked those clothes for dozens of other Gen2 figures easily and have never had this problem before. I have a little screencap of what it looks like when I put the Dark Passion for Genesis 2 Males shirt on him. When the holes appeared I tried Smoothing like I usually would, but that either made the holes bigger or just shifted them from one location to another.

I tried putting Dokk's skin MAT on a different figure, but then strangely, I had the same issues with the new figure!

Thank you for testing this for me. I don't know if this is a bug with the figure itself or if there's just something weird going on on my end. :)

It could be the displacement, try applying a push modifier to the clothing.

I'm still a little new with DAZ, Scorpio. :) Can you please tell me how to apply a push modifier?

  • Select the clothing item, then go to Create>New Push Modifier. You can thena djust the offset (in cm) in the Parameters pane.

Thank you, Richard! ^_^ I appreciate the instructions!

I tried the push modifier but it didn't seem to change anything for me. It was certainly worth a try though. :)

I had a talk with my friend Nadino. We believe the issue with Dokkalfar is skin displacemnt is causing this issue. Click on DOKKAlfar, and go to his surface tab. Turn off the displacement on his skin.

He will look much better, but you will still need to add a 10 smoothing smodifier to the shirt of Dark Passion and also adjust the fit using the morphs on the shirt. Here's the result, and a screenshot of the morphs I used to get the fit right.
