Daz Studio 4.8 Pro Won't Show Some Content On Categories After Re-Organizing [SOLVED]

Hi,

I just want to know if there's a fix to the categories section to show the content without metadata on Daz Studio 4.8.

How this problem happened: I wanted to organize my folder that's seen on the picture to make it easier for me to put stuff when I download those categories. Before I had this problem I had this folder not organize it will show all the content from it even without metadata. And it was a mess and I thought of doing it on my external hard drive and after I did that I deleted the content that's in ''Other Stuff'' folder copied and pasted it the organize content on my D: drive, and after I open Daz Studio and let it search for content on my D: drive for some weird reason it won't show it.

If anyone does have a fix to this problem all help is a thank you.

The database is pointing to the old locations, so when you did the scan for content it either ended up in Unassigned (if the new location is mapped in Content Directory Manager) or found nothing (if the old location is still the mapped one).

If you had Exported User Data, then all you need to do is go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager and make sure BOTH Daz Studio Formats and Poser Formats are using the new location, then Re-Import Metadata.

If you didn't Export User Data, your best bet is to delete the empty categories, then right click on the folder in Poser Formats (it also works for DS formats) and choose "Create Category from Folder > Including Subfolders"

    Hey,

I did not export the data, but I did export the user data before I had this problem. And I also deleted one category the one that's highlighted on the two last pictures and it's still not showing it and they are Poser formats.

Is the relative path on the D: drive (the path below the mapped content folder) the same as it was in the old location?

Yes, I have put them before, but some of the stuff I have on these pictures will be shown but some will not. They have been on this drive before even some content I downloaded recently will be seen. Well before I organized this folder on the 15th on this month (February), all the content on this folder will be shown.

Are these all DS-format files?  Are they outside of the Runtime folder in the new location?

There's one DS format but that's a prop, but the rest are Poser formats and the runtimes are the same when I downloaded them.

So what is the structure of those folders?  Does each of those folders have a Runtime underneath it, and are all of those Runtimes mapped in Content DIrectory Manager?

The structure of those folders, I listed them in different categories of items and most of them have runtimes but I have downloaded some props without runtimes and most of them have the MTL formats and the poses when I download them I just leave it the way it is and put it where the person made it. And the two pictures I have that show the content manager and the list goes on it.

  • I have tried to remove some content that's on this picture but after I let it search the content and click accept, it gives me the extra folders on Poser Formats with nothing on it.

    Hey,

I'm still not seeing any content from this folder on this picture the D: drive on Categories even when I delete one Category on the type of Categories, it will still not show it. So what should I do? Should I reinstall Daz Studio 4.8 or is there something on Appdata that I'm not seeing or remove all the content that's in the D: drive in Content Directory Manager. I don't know what else to do anymore.

I actually figured it out by going to ''Content Database Maintenance'' and clicked ''Rest Database'', and it worked. :)
