Question about Shaders

So if I'm working on a scene and use shaders ,then save the scene ,as a scene subset ,should I have to re apply the shaders when I open the scene again ?

No, you shouldn't... if you have them correctly saved.

and what is correctly saved? Because I had applied shaders to most of the scene , glass , mirrors ,metals ,fabric ,and either I opened the wrong scene or they didn't save ......

What state were the surfaces in then? Default material? That does sound like the wrong scene - remember that a Scene Subset wil not appear on the recent files list.

Okay so for example I took FG Standard Apartment , ran RSSY iRay to 3DeLight  script ,to convert everything to 3DeLight then whent back through and adjusted tiling ,then replaced glass, metal, mirror ,wood , etc.shaders and then I changed the cameras.......and I now think you are right I opened the wrong scene ..which sadly means I must have deleted the one I did all the work on .....some days just need to stay in bed

    Thank you @RichardHaseltine
