DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION

Hi,

I've been having this problem for two days now and now on both of my computers (laptop and desktop).

DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "D:\Daz 3D\DAZStudio4\libs\iray\libiray.dll" at 0033:00000000300519FE, mi_plugin_factory()+845118 byte(s)

When rendering, Iray iterations only go up to 0/31. (laptop and desktop)

I'm running Windows 8.1 (laptop and desktop)

Daz3D is saved to a separated drive (laptop and desktop)

Daz3D had been running fine for months, but now, it keeps crashing and giving me that same error.

Apparently, (from what I can make out), Daz3D is saying that there isn't enough memory, but there is. The laptop has over 5GB and the desktop has a 1TB.

Current Memory Load:         79%
Total Physical Memory:       5702 MB
Available Physical Memory:   1174 MB
Total Page File Memory:      11644 MB
Available Page File Memory:  1507 MB

Then there are Environment Variables:

=::=::\
=C:=C:\
ADSK_3DSMAX_x64_2015=C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2015\
ADSK_3DSMAX_x64_2016=C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2016\
ALLUSERSPROFILE=C:\ProgramData
AMDAPPSDKROOT=C:\Program Files (x86)\AMD APP\

(As far as I'm aware, I had completely uninstalled both versions of 3DS Max)

One the laptop, the graphics card is AMD E-300 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics. The desktop has (practically) the same. It could be more up-to-date/new than the laptop.

  • I'd suggest turning in a support ticket.  DAZ doesn't run support through the forums.  Going through Support will allow them to give you help and figure out the issue.

    Thanks for the reply, that's what I'll have to do .

    I've just tried 4.9 too, but that has the same problem :(

  • Ahh...sorry to hear.  They should be able to help.  It may take a day or so to hear...(at least Monday now), but hopefully they can help get it sorted quickly.  :)

    I was wondering if they did work over the weekend. I stayed up all night last night to sort the problem and, as far as I'm aware it's fixed. But, I've had to open a support ticket about another error. I'm hoping that this new error can be fixed just as quickly.

    Except that for most people the current version doesn't haev this problem. That doesn't really help you, but it's clear that some particular combination(s) of factors gives a few people issues.

    That's because the issue is not DS but your system. Based on the error message it looks like you need to update/fix your OpenCL driver. I'm guessing that it's the Intel one because you don't have an Nvidia GPU.
