So I bought Raiya's cool Perfectly Imperfect Skin2 Merchant Resource for a character I'm creating to sell, if I understand it correctly this product is only a base for me to add my own materials on to make my character unique?

It does seem to lack any information on what merchnat Resouce means in this case, on the product page and on the readme page, so I think you would need to open a Sales support ticket to see if they have details.
