Removing or Moving DIM Download Files

I would like to move the files downloaded by DIM (and already installed on my system) to free up space on my local hard drive. My Content library is on an external HDD and works well.
Problem is, the last I did this DIM wanted to download all my purchased content again and I don't want that.
Would I be correct in saying that deleting only the DIM zip files and leaving the DSX files there will stop DIM wanting to download again?
I know I could have checked the "Delete after Install" box, but I don't want that either. I want to move the files to another external HDD just in case I need to manually re-install something (paranoid I know!)
Or, is there another way to achieve this?
BTW, this is on DS 4.8

Once you've installed something you can move the zip (and dsx) elsewhere. DIM uses the ManifestFiles folder to keep track of what is installed.
Thanks, that did the trick. Forgot all about the Manifest Folder. Cheers :)
