Electro Hair refitting from G8M to G9 undone after saving

I've a problem that's puzzling me. I have the Electro Hair for G8M and I've fitted it to my G9 character. Initially, it looks like this;
After saving the file and returning to the project, it looks like this;
I haven't been able to figure out why this happens, nor any action to restore it.

That is dForce hair, it will not AutoFit correctly (or rather, it will reset when the mesh is regenerated for any reason, including loading from a save). Instead of AutoFit try loading it separately, then adjust it's pose and transforms to get it to line up on the figure's head and parent it - the main draw backs are that it will require manual adjustment to match any morphs applied to the figure and any hierarchical presets will not work (but that would be true of the Autofitted version too)..
