Type of NVIDIA driver recommended?

I know there are two types of drivers for video cards that NVIDIA offers, a gamer and one other.  I keep having crashes doing renders in DS and it's getting annoying.  I never had this issue in the past and when it would pop up it was very very rarely and never had it happen, as it was a glitch.  If I reduce the size of my output to something smaller it will finish but anything rendered 1000X1000 or over seems get a crash.  I need to make some promo renders and those usually need to be 1600X1600 and I can't make that happen right now.  My drivers are up to date but yea, maybe I chose the wrong one to install, don't know, can't remember if that fixes issues like this or not?

Please advise!  Thank you

I'm going to go ahead and install the Public Beta, which I HATE doing but in order to see what's going on I need to I guess.

I use the Creative drivers or whatever it's called; Studio is stable for me and I also play games (currently The First Descendant and Star Wars: Outlaws) with no issues on a 4090 (and there better not be any issues with that monster of a card).

Yesterday, I updated my Nvidia driver to v572.60 WHQL Studio Driver. For the past few weeks I had 3 or 4 occassions where my computer USB keyboard and bluetooth mouse would not respond and I had to HARD restart my PC. This would happen when I had left my computer to idle for an hour. Atleast on two of those occassions DAZ Studio was running. However it was not rendering at the time.

I have always used the Studio Drivers since they were first avaialble for consumer and this kind of issue has never occured. I don't know if it is due to an Nvidia driver or a Windows 11 update. Also, I stopped using DS Betas and stuck to Publice Release.

I realize it is not the problem you described, but maybe there is some information that is useful to you.

Also if you have the patience and time maybe do a RAM check on your PC just on the unlikely possibility your RAM (DDR) has developed a flaw. This did happen to me on an old PC many years ago.

Beta crashed as well so must be the drivers.

Thank you Jake, I have run system checks and my memory modules are all ok.  I'll see if the Studio drivers are needed to get this resolved.  I THINK I installed the Gamer drivers.  I just can't remember.  LOL

Essentially Studio drivers are, inbtheory, older Game ready drivers that have stood the test of time and don't have bleeding edge features just added to support some new game. It is usually a good diea to use a version fairly close to the minimum required version, though currently that would mean a driver with a fairly serious security issue. That said, I did update past the minimum (in major part because of the security issue) and am not having issues with 566.03

I did notice a newer driver available, I did install the Studio driver as that is recommended via the YouTube video down in it's comments area.  I'll see if that works out better, if not I'll uninstall and try the Gamer install and see if that works out.

    So I watched the video.

Although not necessary, when I install an Nvidia driver, I use the custom/adavnced option and checked the box for perform a clean install. Also, I make sure all my monitors are turned on for the update.

Richard's point is good. If you don't need the latest driver use an earlier driver. Since I am spending more time in Blender I have found latest Studio Driver gives me reliable performance.

I use the gaming drivers, and I've never had a problem.

Took a shower, came out, render finished with no DS crash so that was a nice surprise.  Not sure if I'm actually on my way to being back to normal with my work flow but at least I got this one promo (artistic, not a spotlight) done!  It was an old old promo that was really pretty bad and so used allot of Fabi's props and updated the lights.  It's a bit busy but if this can get rendered with all this stuff in the scene then a promo featuring a blank background and just the character (Gino) should be easy peasy!  I HOPE!  lol
