Dynamic clothing control

Ok. Quite a while back, I bought the dynamic clothing control plugin. I thought I had bought the full item, as that is what the product page led me to believe. But when I go to look in the plug in list, it says I have the basic, and all of those different panels shown on the product page aren't there. But this is the big problem. I can only get the cloth to collide with one item in the scene. I have a figure on a horse, and have both checked, but it will only collide with one or the other. Am I missing something here?

If you bought the full plugin, it will be in your product library...if you've updated Studio since you bought it, you will need to reinstall it (likely that the full version was removed/replaced by the basic during the update).

    First: what mjc1016 said.

Second: you will have to add the serial number for the full plugin: https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/serialnumbers

Third: only one item for collision ... unfortunately

Note that the Dynamic plugin is one of the awkward ones — whenever you install an updated version of D|S, you must also update the Dynamic plugin to the same version (the last two numbers of the version must be the same). If you don't, then either the dynamics won't work at all, or you'll be left with only the basic features.

Also, there's nothing (almost) stopping you from colliding the cloth with more than one object; here's a quick test I just ran with one of the Design Kit cloths and three Primitive spheres.

Note that "almost" — the collision function has always been a bit fragile, and will fail if you try to set "Collide With" for too many things at once. You will have to learn to trim your Collide With list ruthlessly, making sure only props and figure parts that could possibly touch the cloth are ticked.

  • Ok. I had thought this about the update, and have done this. But to the side of most things that need a serial number, there is a space to type it in. With this, there doesn't seem to be one. So I can't figure out how to get it to take mine.

Did you install the Dynamic Clothing Control AFTER installing DS?
