Freebie Challenge March 2025 - "Pride, Prejudice and other Shenanigans" - Main Thread
Is it drama or a romcom? What's the story you will tell? Will they fall in love and forever be happy or part ways and tears are flowing, will there be a love rival or even forbidden love? Put your characters in regal attire, enjoy the flowers in an overflowing garden while they meet in secret with a loved one, let them gossip at the pond while feeding the fish or whatever other scene you want to make.
The use of image generating AI technology (midjourney, stable diffusion, DAZ AI Studio, etc.) is not allowed. The use of items (freebies or paid) that have been created with such technology is also not allowed. We realise it's not always easy to tell; let's all use our best judgement, and you can always ask the person hosting the contest if you're not sure.
The Rules For This Months Freebie Challenge are:
1. A minimum of (5) Freebies must be included in your image along with Links to the freebies you have used. For an item to be considered free it must be offered as a freebie for the whole month. The exception to this rule is all Daz Bi-Weekly Freebies will be allowed throughout the entire month in which they are free as well as the month following their release as a freebie (For a total of 2 months). Also, if a freebie is broken down into multiple downloads/links/parts (IE like if the freebie is broken down into 3 zips etc...)it only counts as 1 freebie, not 3.
2. There will be a Maximum of 5 purchased items.
3. Base figures (All Gen 2,3,4, and Genesis 1,2,3,8 and 9) as well as their general morphs packs (Morphs++ and similar) do not count as a purchased item or a freebie and may be used as needed
4.Your Rendered Picture must be a new render and postwork is allowed but you MUST include a before and after Postwork versions of your entry in the Entry Thread.
5. All DAZ 3D Programs are allowed (IE Bryce, Carrara, Daz Studio and Hexagon) plus Poser for the contest.
6. All entries are subject to the Daz3D TOS Found Here: Terms Of Service
7. You may enter a Maximum of 4 Entries per month.
8. You may edit your entry as much as you like in the main thread but once it is posted to the "Entries Thread" it may not be further modified. Also, if you edit or add things, be sure you update any links or freebie changes you make.

I don't know how you guys usually do this!
It took me too many times as long to track down freebies to use as it did for me to create the render... I may have to bow out for the rest of the month. It's too much work! Lol. 
I'd already used Wilmap's regency dress a lot early on in my 3D journey. Love her work. The rest of the list was rounded up for this very simple Regency "spending time in the garden folly" render. No dramatic unfolding of life events for my heroine today. She just wants to relax, like me. A good book will do!

Don't be disheartened! Some months are a little easier than others but generally if you do some freebie renders often enough you build up a little list of places to search and maybe remember some freebies that you saw previously that would now fit in the current theme. Last month I had to discard my first attempt since I could only find 1 freebie that worked with the idea. Even for the one I did submit it was a bit of a stretch going beyond the primary one I built the render around. However, for other themes it has been easy enough to find a good handful of freebies that work well.
Besides, if it was too easy it wouldn't be called a Challenge :)

You're right, it wouldn't be a challenge if it was all too easy. I felt spoiled with the rules for the last challenge. Hahaha.
Yes, I'm sure it's easier over time, having figured out what's there and where to look for more freebies. And I also found so many neat things I can put to use for some other projects I had in mind.
richardandtracy Thank you! Yes, I can well believe that the freebie tracking can be the most time-consuming part of this! If the theme is inspiring enough for someone, we'd probably be more likely to put in the effort.
I know I said I might bow out for the rest of the month, but then, I really needed something to help me procrastinate on my to-do list.
This time, tracking down the freebies was the smaller part of the effort, as I was making sense of the old Genesis figures, finding things in the poser runtime structure, and trying to remember how to use FilaToon again...
So I'm back to spam this thread...

Oh dear. I'm sooo sorry. I'm back...
Meant to get to bed early, but then I thought why not just muck around in DS for a wee little bit, which turned out to be much much longer. I always liked the old free Rococco V4 outfit a lot and have put it to use a few times. So I decided on a more romantically dramatic period render using that.
