Trying to Install Michael 5 For Daz3d

verchielverchiel Posts: 3

Go through the trouble of switching to Daz from Poser, just to use Michael 5, only to get shafted yet again trying to import content. I have the current version of Daz, it came with Genesis 8 and 9. I'm trying to install Michael 5 using an installer, to no avail because I keep getting the same dialogue box. Please keep responses simple and stupid. Visually demonstrate if possible. Hours of troubleshooting reading entire novels with no resolution when you need to complete a project will really thin your patience.

Yes the Genesis figures are located in this directory. Do I need to install some other version of Genesis to use the Michael morphs?

You need to redownload it from either your product library or download and install with DIM (Daz Install Manager), which would be my suggestion. Standalone installers have been gone for quite some time. You can download many or all your products at once and has good filtering and search features, and you can take advantage of installing in many different places to your choosing.

This is content that was purchased a while ago among other old assets from a creative team I was a part of years ago. The account it belonged to is long forgotten. I would like to know how I can go about using what I have, whether it involves installing a previous version of Daz, or whatever else. I'm not in the interest of spending money I don't have to try to pose and render models that I already possess. Thank you.

If you don't have a license, due to not having acces to the account, then you don't have the right to use the content. All we can suggest is cointacting Daz (sales support) with as much information as possible and they may be able to help you.

You need to install the original Genesis figure if you haven't already got it. That should go into My Daz3D Library/People/Genesis. Then you should be able to install Michael 5 to the same folder.

Moved to Technical Help as it is not a Daz Studio application issue.

That's what I thought, too, so I went ahead and installed Genesis 1. I can see it's located in C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis\Base. I set the directory for Genesis and Genesis/Base and receive the same error (same goes for People\Genesis\). Also thank you for trying to offer some actual help <3
