V4 support folder cannot be found (two DAZ software, two different issue)

I'm running into issue that just begun today.

I have two different DAZ3D version, current stable 4.9 and beta 4.8 that is just there because I haven't deleted.

Stable DAZ version can't load Victoria 4 with PowerLoader saying it can't find a support folder,
While Beta DAZ 4.8 loads like it used to

Both version points to same DAZ Content/Poser Runtime folder, so I'm out of idea why one can find support folder while the other doesn't.

Is there anyone can help me in this issue? Or should I just use Beta 4.8 for now?
Thanks

Can you post a screenshot of the Content Directory Manager from each version, with Poser Formats expanded?

What is the exact path to the Victoria 4.2.cr2?

Putting content under Program Files/Program Files (x86) is dangerous -- it was fine under XP but Windows versions since then protect those folders.

  • I understand your point but I'm posting this problem since it only happened literally since today... and once again; Beta 4.8 has no problem at all loading V4.2

    D:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ 3D\DAZ 3D\Studio3\content\Runtime\libraries\Character\DAZ People\Victoria 4.2.cr2

If you navigate to the cr2, in Windows, can you open it in a text editor?

There was a WIndows update on Tues 23, for Win7 and 8.1...

  • Yes, I can... doesn't seem different any compared to the last time.

But what update though? And I'm really confused how could Windows Update confuse only one DAZ Studio, not both... LOL

    By resetting permissions...

The path is 'protected' by Windows, but if you can open the cr2 in a text editor, then it isn't a permissions issue.  Just one more thing eliminated.

Your settings for 4.9 are different.

    4.9 is using C:/ProgramData/DAZ 3D/My Library

    4.8 is using C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library

The order in which they are listed can have an affect as well.

DS has a tendency to put things in the first folder in the list.
