Downloading products DS and PS

For all my purchases I downloaded the DS and PS files.

Since I don't have Poser,   do I still need to download the PS files?   since to me, they are useless.

Am I wrong,  or are the files in it, that Daz is using ?   (since my lib size could be half the size then, since i guess it will show 2x in my Lib)

  • The answer, unfortunately, is "it depends". If the Daz Studio files are labelled as Companion Files/CF then you alomost certainly do need the Poser files too as the DS package contains only custom materials, not the actual models. If not, and especially if the DS package is about the same size as or larger than the Poser, then you most likely don't need the PS files.

If you use Daz Install Manager, click the "Download Filters" button on the "Ready to Download" ta and untick any software you don't use.  Then it will only display the PS files if they are needed for DS.

What if you are only installing with Connect and not DIM, would you automatically get the correct files for DS (not a poser user) or do these products have to be installed with DIM?

Daz Connect should automatically download the correct files for Daz Studio. Fetching the Poser package and the DS Companion package, or just the DS files and leaving the Poser companion package alone.
