Beginner question re: 3-D printing - stuff you can make
Anyone have any experiences to share about DAZ's 3-D printing services? I would like to have a look at some "duds" or "mis-printed" pieces if that's possible.
I assume that there is a basic surface texture and/or color available... can this be tweaked a bit with shaders or BUMP files?
Seems to me that 3-D typography may be an untapped market, and that at the very least additive manufacturing can be used to make lots of strange little tools for shaping or indenting (A) clay or plasticene or (B) wax models or surfaces, the latter with a view to making castings, as in a foundry.
Other uses might include modern weapons for your G.I. Joe collection -- or all sorts of doll accessories. If the surface is paintable, like with enamel paint then there is probably a huge market for one-off medical models of various types.
