Sounds like DS was running when the install happened...rerun the install...either manually or with DIM.

Running Install Manager as Administrator will cause the same permission issues with PostgreSQL CMS as running Daz Studio as Administrator. It's not a good idea to do this.

The white UI is due to the update being installed while the application is running. Instead, close Daz Studio. Uninstall. Re-install.

Som packages can only be installed when DIM is run as Admin under Win 10

was the same for the 4.8 -> 4.9 Update

Will try the uninstall/install, when i'm back home.

Will I loose workspace setups by uninstalling?

In cases where Install Manager needs to elevate permissions (e.g. software, plugins, system paths, etc), the helper application will launch and prompt for permission. Again, Install Manager should not be Run As Administrator, as that will cause issues with PostgreSQL.

The workspace is stored separately in appdata. No, you will not loose it.

I know this but giving the Helper Tool Permission does not seem to work.

Had this problem allready when Updateing 4.8->4.9

Only running as Administrator worked... will retry when reinstalling..

The needing to run as administrator requirement seem to be if you have set security for the OS at higher than default levels as I did after an incident.  Don't install to the Program Files folders and you shouldn't need to run as administrator.

Exactly. The problems happen with folders protected by Windows UAC. I have installed DAZ Studio and also PostgreSQL on a separate disk partition (drive D), but a folder outside the normal program folders would also do it. The DAZ contents and also the PostgreSQL database are installed on a completely separate HDD. And I could never notice problems with this setup.

Well, I don't use DIM (it is not even installed), updates are done with the standalone installers, and not a single time something got messed up.

Ok Problem solved and in the strangest way.

When I came home and started DIM again (non-Admin) it showed the 4 update packages as not Installed (but downloaded )

I restaretd install, Helper request came up, everything was installed again. DS is working again.. really really strange....

    But anyway Problem solved....

    Thanks for all the Help!
