How to make object's axes follow the object?

How do I change a prop so that the xyz axes stay local to the object, instead of being tied to the world axes? So that they rotate with the object? I gather that for some reason this is beyond DS, so how do I change it? I'll use whatever software I have to. I can't put up with the way rotation works any more.

Go to the Tool Settings pane and adjust the option at the top, just under the tool name button.

even though you change tool setting,,  It not correspond to the parameter tab,,

it need to rotate by universal  tool, or rotate tool,. that means, when I need to rotate obj as local axis,, with precise value, very un-useful.

eg can you easy rotate the obj,, with 33 by local ,X axis, then rot the obj with current local Y 25 easy?  though tweak and play with Snapping,, it really difficult for me.

there is no box,, which I can input ,, local rotation value still sad

(the OP quesiton is actually ,, what I reportted and asked as futrure request,, to rotate obj with local  axis,, by input values, 4 years before,,)

Oy, I'm an idiot. I either forgot or didn't realize (probably forgot - I seem to remember making a thread like this years ago) that while universal tool has this annoying behavior, the rotate tool does not. So I was all het up over nothing.
