G3F Load Error [Solved]

Whenever I load a Genesis 3 Female character (V7, Bethany, G3F-Base) I'm getting the error in my screen shot. The error refers to G3M which is not loaded at all. Any ideas?

  • have you tried loading G3m?

if he throws the same error the dsf file may have gotten corrupted.

Another thing to consider is if you've added any characters/morph packs/ etc before the error started.

Might be simply needing to reinstall the g3m base.

one last thing, are your assets installed on a LAN or local machine.

In my case my file server decided to have a coniption fit about file permissions this week while i was adding in a new server.

Had to manually change all the folder and file permissions.

I don't use G3M at all but I will try downloading the base again. For the same reason, I have not loaded any G3M morphs or characters - I don't have any. All conent is installed on my local macine (iMac).

What I don't understand is why a G3M error should be showing for G3F.

  • ok that helps.

i'd say there is some character, or add-on you've installed that needs something from the g3m.

kinda like you have to have bethany 7, the b7 hd add on, and g3f body morphs to use Ginger. Otherwise it just throws a bunch of errors.

I can't think of anything i've got that specifically requires g3m base to be installed to use with g3f, but i wouldn't take any bets that it doesn't exist.

you may want to check the log file and see if there is any hint at what is looking for the g3m file.

simply load the g3f and then go through the log file.

I'll recommend doing this on fresh run of studio as there will be fewer entries.

No guarantee that it will show anything usefull, but it does in many errors like this.

Yes I thought about looking at the log but haven't had chance yet. I'll do so tomorrow, thank you.

OK - so the log file shows the error four times. On each occasion it comes immediately before a MouthSmile morph...

Then I loaded a second Bethany 7 figure and checked the log file again ...

May want to reinstall G3F. Not sure why it's looking for G3M in the first place.

Hmm ... OK. I was a bit nervous to do that but I can't think of any reason why I shouldn't.

Depends on how much you've tweaked the figure. If you haven't messed around with morph groups, display modes, etc., then you have no reason to worry.

Seems to be fixed. Reinstalling G3M Starter Essentials seems to have done the trick.
