Animating textures with keyframes.

Okay, so I've seen many different topics of how to put already animated textures into the software and have it animate. Is there a way to animate the translation of a texture? IE, I'm making tank treads so the ideal way for me to do that is to slide the texture Via the X dirrection, and have that set to keyframes? I'm looking for plugins, scripts, whatever.

Try animating the offset value for tiling - I don't know if that will work.
I did that, and thats what I'm trying to figure out how to make work. Since thats basically perfect for what I need, I just need to find a way to attach the offset value to a slider in the morphs animation slots, so that the wheels and the treads turn at the same rate.
Figured out how to do it using a third party plugin, but now I need to figure out how to attach said animation to a dial...
Pray tell, what 3rd party plugin?
Don't know if Rane is hinting at the same plugin:
You can animate render engine specfic parameters in the OctaneRender plugin for DAZ Studio.
The animated values do not show up in the DAZ Studio timeline because unfortunately the DAZ Studio API does not support it.
That may be the reason why you cannot animate Iray specific values.
-> The former OctaneRender for DAZ Studio plugin devleoper t_3 invested a lot of time and energy to provide a workaround.
- You can create a keyframe for each Octane Render specific parameter. Keyframes will show up as a red dot in the plugin interface.
A red line below a parameter means that a keyframe has been placed somewhere on the plugin timeline for this parameter.
There is a separate OctaneRender timeline window in which you can evaluate the keyframes for the selected parameter.
Unfortunately is not possible to have a look at an overview of all animated OR specific values of the same scene.
-> You have to check the indivdual timelines for each animated parameter seperately.
Maybe if the DAZ Studio API will be updated to display render engine specific parameters in the native DS timeline some further progress can be made.

-> Specific example:
Test scene with plane and animated texture
- placed a keyframe for X translation at frame 0
- placed a keyframe for X translation at frame 10
