She was asking about a character that involuntarily turns into a dragon, not a dragon/human/etc that can change forms. At least that's how I interpreted her post.

Hm... Warcraft just lumps all dragons under the category Dragonkin. Dragonspawn are like centaurs and rarely have wings (But still dragonkin), and Dragonoids are anthro-like dragons (Same as before.) So I take a similar approach ^_^
I'm sure various fantasy games and authors have different interpretations of these things, but I don't care XD

Hunters can learn an ability called "Track Dragonkin" that will make any dragons show up as a red dot on the minimap. Works if they're shapeshifted too. Lulz I remember this red dragon in... In... Briarthorn Vale I think it was? It was that level 40 instance on the border of The Barrens at the edge of 1k Needles, with a lvl20 version on the opposite side of it. Well there was this red all in a prison or something and letting him out starts an escort quest then a "Protect him while he blows up this idol" thing which I've only failed once (When our healer disconnected and our backup heal died). He engages in some conversation on the way there and prior to activating the "Protect me" portion of the event. I forget what exactly he said, but he made destroying this idol seem important.
Thinking back on the matter, I highly doubt this was Korialstrasz. For starters, it's unlikely he'd be overwhelmed and captured by the razormane or whatever the pig things were called, unless he allowed himself to or was not supposed to draw attention to himself while operating there (And thus would be not allowed to revert to his dragon form). If he was actually overwhelmed and captured, it's more likely he was a younger dragon - possibly even a drake - that was given this assignment. It was a neat story I wish I could hear more of, especially if letting that idol thing get out of hand would really pose a threat (Not in the same league as DW would, but what sort of havoc it could cause).
Either way, I was surprised at myself for not realizing it was a red dragon at first (Them wacky Red Dragon names, can spot them a mile away XD ) until I looked at the name closer ^_^;
I was actually tracking dragonkin at the time for some stupid reason and noticed the blip on the minimap and had our party make a beeline straight for it. (Hunter for about 97% of my time on the game XD Yay hunters!)

In my mind if is a naturally born dragon (i.e. not genetically created, cloned, the result of a curse, etc) then it's always a dragonkin. It can be classified as other things too, but that will always be one of them.

Again, I'm sure that there's all sorts of different ways people classify these sorts of things, and is open to take artistic creativity with, but I don't really much care for all that XD

But as you point out this is all just points of view. Fantasy is fantasy so if it works it works. No biggie.

I was thinking of a character named Chika who is a weredragon. She can change between dragon form and human form. she is actually half weredragon and half vampire. Mum is vampire and pa is a weredragon. Chika is Kulay's cousin as their mothers are sisters.
so I do not find it weird at all.
the dragons in my story eat (genetically engineered) jumbo pumpkins. :)
Mermaids are water demons. i don't have any vampires.
did you create a Lore for how vampires began? thaz always interesting.
In Anne Rice, and Buffy, the first vampire was infected by the blood of a demon.
not sure about Nosferatu.
my favorite demon Lore is from Another Fine Myth, demons are actually dimension travelers. :lol:
There are different kind of vampires in my stories. The main kind is the Vamerians. Some Vamerians can give up their immortality and then become mortal vampires. Then there are the ones who stayed immortal but became currupt and demented.
I have not decided on how the Vamerians came to be.

i'm having trouble falling into writing trance mode. it's sunny out. writing at night and on rainy days is easier. my chair is uncomfortable.

I'm with Rezca, Dragon Kin is general not a copyrighted type of thing. You just use whatever pleases you. As long as it's done well no one will give a hoot. They will just enjoy your story.
Tune down ambience on those parts, Rezca?

Cho, just a quick question... The PC newsletter, I've looked through my inbox and I cant find any of the previous ones... I looked at my account and my 'General Subscription' of Newsletters is checked and there are no other options... I cant even find the one that your render was featured on. :( I've all ways had newsletters checked.
Is General Subscriptions all daz newsletters or does my PC account have a missing newsletter subscription option?
