Donor rig: how to use it?

So I extracted a donor rig with the intention of applying it to a weightmapped model, and I can't find how to for love nor money. Is this one of those deep mysteries of the universe that only a chosen few have the knowledge for, or am I missing something really simple?

I'm not clear on what you are trying to do or why - nor on which application you are using.
In Daz Studio.
Maybe what I really want an answer to is: how do I get a custom rig of my own to show in the Transfer Utility as a new option (My Tunic, My Cape, My Cloak, etc)?
I can extract a rig but there's no info anywhere on using it.
You would use a figure rigged that way as the Source. Transfer Utility isn't, as far as I know, for transferring an abstract rig not attached to a model.
Sorry, I meant "Fit To". Thanks for taking the time to bother with my rambling.
Ah, you want a new clone in AutoFit. It's not something I have done, but have a look at http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/484726/
Brilliant. Thanks. Should've known SY would have something to show.
heh, I couldn't find SY's tutorial (if it exists) but there's also Kattey's thread on transferring morphs that has instructions - I added the link to my previous post.
Thanks again!
I was thinking about this and realised I was wrong - what you are wanting is the projection template, the things like Skirt, Boots and so on, rather than a clone shape, a different figure the clothes from which are to be converted. You can use these in both the AutoFit dialogue and in Transfer Utility.
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/27843/projection-templates-how-to is the tutorial I can find, which seems to be one of Sickle Yield's but not her original form.
You can also use AutoFit without worrying about the template, to get the shape, then use your rigged figure as the Source and the AutoFit conversion as the Target in the Transfer Utility to get the rigging.
Bingo! You're a star!
That link no longer works. Per archive.org, here's an updated link that points to the same post: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/24093/transferring-morphs-from-genesis-to-g2m-g2f-and-from-g2m-g2f-to-genesis-now-with-clones/p14
If that no longer works either (at some future date, but before the Allied Mastercomputer takeover), try the archive.org link: https://web.archive.org/web/20150712192050/http://www.daz3d.com:80/forums/viewreply/484726
