Sorry to bump this thread, but where do you map a folder as an MDL driectory? I'm trying to create a custom MDL brick, but can't figure out this step ...
In the Shader Mixer pane's own menu bar, not the main DS menu bar, Edit>MDL Directory Manager...
Thanks Richard, I'll try that later. Knew it would be something simple ...![blush blush](http://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/embarrassed_smile.png)
... but clearly still too difficult for me.
I've attached the MDL folders dialogue - I created a couple and put a copy of the .mdl in both just in case it had to be in the 'My Library' path too. But when I try to drag the file from a Windows file browser window it just shows a crossed out circle as the mouse cursor and doesn't let me. Any ideas?
Is Windows perhaps protecting that folder as it would the C: drive version? Try using a location not in "Program Files", which should not be used for content.
Is Windows perhaps adding a hidden .TXT extension to your file?
Okay, not sure what was causing the problem - when I got home it worked fine on another PC. May have been a syntax error in the MDL that I corrected ...
Is there a way to get selectors on the brick inputs (so you can set a constant input without feeding something in to the input) as the standard bricks have?
