It is possible I missed this information. Do I need to stop CMS before exporting? And where does the export go?

    Thanks

No, you don't stop the CMS, The exported user data is in Runtime:Support and called UserData_1.dsx (and _2, etc if you have a lot).

I was installing part of the V6 bundle tonight, and now when I start DS4 it says it can't find the genesis.dsf file - how do I re-install it?

Did you just upgrade from DS4.0 to DS4.6? Go to Edit > Preferences > Startup, and if it shows Genesis.dsf as the startup scene, change it to Genesis.duf.

I did upgrade to 4.6 a while back - I tried changing the startup scene to Genesis.duf, but when I browse the directory to change it, there aren't any .duf files listed to change it to.

Look in your products for Daz Studio, you'll find there's an installer for "Genesis Starter Essentials".
All kinds of goodies including Genesus.duf :-)
