Is there a way to convert ds file to dsf or duf files
![Michael Callahan](https://farnsworth-prod.uc.r.appspot.com/forums/uploads/userpics/931/n058CED554BA2.jpg)
I have quite a few ds files that I would like to use in DAZ studio 4.9. The files are from vendor outside of DAZ store. Is there a way to update these files.
Thanks,
Mike

Materials or poses? What figure do you want to use them with?
I have old opitex clothing files for clothes I would like to convert. I have looked threw the files for this at the old art zone, but could not find any thing directly realted to converting a file like this. Thanks for asking.
One file that has me wondering is the dso file (daz studio object file). Conversion to 4.9 would be easier if it was a standard waveform object file.
Is this .dso file in a subfolder of your /data/ folder? If so, then it's very much Do Not Touch and You Are Not Supposed To See This territory — anything in the /data/ folder is supposed to be loaded by a scene or figure/prop file visible in your Content Library tab. You must not try to load it manually.
As for those old Optitex clothes, no conversion is necessary — DAZ|Studio can see and load the old scene files directly. Are you having problems loading them into your scene?
Oh, and the .ds files are probably scripts, used for setting materials or poses. They don't strictly speaking need conversion either, although if you re-save the material/pose/whatever settings as a .duf file this lets you use newer D|S features that didn't exist before D|S4 was released.
And I don't notice any faster loading with them saved out to duf...
But the easy way is to load it, then save a new preset...
Not sure how old this thread is, but here is a link to look at on Daz3d about Converting the old .ds files to .duf files... it's tedious.
