Iray Skin and Eyes Renders

I know it has being talk about it other times, and I think I read all about it. I have been trying to render my models with skin and eyes as real as possible. I did managed . . sometimes. That makes me wonder that it's not all about the light and setting. It seems to me that depends also in the way the model has been made. Some models have more realistic skin, and some . . not. Any suggestion about all this? Do you adjust your skin before you apply it? And how? What about eyes. What kind of shader do you use for them? Thanks.

    Depends on the Model.

Depends on the render engine you're using.

But if you're using the stock figure, and the promos show the affect you wish to achieve, then it is pretty much down to light, the angles it is hitting the character, and the amount and type. Camera angles and poses will also add a lot to believeability, but less related to the skin itself.

Some characters are set up with scatter only, and some with scatter and transmit; the scatter only I sometimes/often convert, as I find those easier to work with; we are different though, and use what works for us.

Those you find you like look at the settings in shaders: "why do I like that?"

And those you don't: "What is it about those, I don't like?"

If you can find a common denomenator, you have your answer - probably. :)
