Reset the way the content library reads
Hi I'm trying to get back into using daz 3d after being very ill, I originally bought Daz 3 Advanced years ago and used it all the time
but as you know it has changed so much and every time I go in I go get so confused that I give up, its driving me mad, I just give up
but I need to relearn and start using, I have thousands of dollars worth of software going to waist.
Before I had a separate drive I use to separate all my content into ( the white uploaded image ) and I am also setting it up, as I also buy
software through renderosity and quite a few other places, and I need to know different items are.
But i am having some real issues finding anything ( as you can see in the grey image ) I just really need help trying to reset the content
library because now I can't find anything, it takes me up to 40mins just to find - the daz people ect - v4, Aiko , please can anyone help figure
out a way i can 1. reset my content library - 2. organise my content so i can find it.
Thanking you Tania
I love daz, and so much want to be able to use with out getting so frustrated i give up

Can you go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, expand the "Daz Studio Formats" and "Poser Formats" sections, and post a screenshot?
It looks like the main problem is that you're putting the zip folders into your content location -- what you need to do, if you're determined to install them manually rather than using Daz Install Manager or Daz Connect, is extract each zip file to a temporary location, then go to that location, go into the folder named "Content", and then take what's inside that folder (e.g. Runtime) and merge it with the Runtime folder inside the area you want it. For example, if it's a building, you want to take the Runtime folder and put it inside your BUILDING folder.
Also, the screenshot shows Poser-format folders -- items for Genesis and later figures will be in Daz Studio-format folders.
If you're setting this up for the first time, it might be less error-prone to use Daz Install Manager to install to one location, and then use Categories inside DS to organize things how you like. The main advantages of using categories are (1) you won't have this problem of making sure everything is installed so that the Runtime folder isn't embedded in a subfolder of where it should be, (2) you can rearrange things all you want in categories without breaking things, and (3) you can put DS-format and Poser-format items together.
I totally second using Daz Install Manager and then making your own categories. Sooo much easier to do and you don't have to worry about what goes where when installing to make it work right...
Thank you i figured out with your help.
